Welcome to part 11 of our blog series on the benefits of new experiences. If you missed the other posts you can find them here.
How many of you can say your life is interesting? It's easy to wonder what happened. We can lose that as we get older. Have you taken notice that as time goes on life tends to get dull and monotonous? That's because we fall into the same routine. Work, come home make dinner, do chores watch some TV, go to bed, get up, and do it all over again. Even that sentence is enough to put me to sleep. When we are stuck in the daily grind we don't see the big picture. Our lives become monotonous because we aren't challenging ourselves anymore.
Did you know if you find yourself bored a lot it means that you are needing new, different, and better things in your life? Your mind is sleeping. Everything has become so mundane and routine you don't need to think anymore. No wonder you are bored!
But hang on! It seems that at a young age, we have been taught to be passive observers. We go to school, when we do well they shuffle us to the next grade until our school career is over. Then we go to work. We try to do well and just sit and wait. Wait for the promotion that may or may not ever come. This has been ingrained in us for all our lives. This is what tends to push us into that dull and monotonous routine. I'm going to let you in on a secret. There is no rule that says this is how we have to spend our lives. We can choose to do whatever we want. So think about what sparks your interest.
Spoiler alert!! New experiences are the perfect thing to help keep things interesting! For people who aren't subscribers to our box, I'm going to quickly list the different experiences we sent out in 2022.

The best part is you probably learned a new skill during the year and made some great memories. As long as we make sure we shake things up in our routine, make sure we make precious time for ourselves to enjoy things, and keep learning along the way who knows where life can take you? Sometimes it's that one little thing that will shift your path somewhere else. Let's stop being passive observers and waiting for things to happen. Let's take that step out of our comfort zone a little bit and feel the excitement of where life can take us.
