This weekend, I experienced firsthand what a thoughtful surprise does to boost the feels. I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen for a while for lunch. We have been friends for over 20 years but don't see each other as often as we should. I have been going through a hard time, and she surprised me with a chunky blanket she made herself. It was unexpected but it was also a boost to how I felt for the rest of that day.

The build-up and excitement were almost unbearable; I was so excited! And of course, it went over well, and that made me happy.
